This week’s to-do list:
1. Buy holiday gifts
2. Give back
Done and done with John’s new calendar. ALL profits go to Big Brother, Big Sister, and the the Humane Society. Check out the super coolest slide show of the decade, and see what could be yours:

Every week I guest blog on John Batdorff’s photography site, and today’s post is on self critiques. The more I study photography, the more I appreciate the formulas to good photos. Check out the post, and navigate John’s site HERE, you’ll love how much he’s done.

Train Track Flowerbeds, Kajsa Stolberg
I’m starting this site and not quite sure where to begin, so I’ll get right to it by saying that I’m interested in showing photos that I’ve taken, throwing ideas around, learning from others out there, and making the most of this wide, wide web that seems to be so popular. Right now I have the pleasure of working with John Batdorff, who’s proving to be a pretty great teacher and mentor. I recommend following his blog, if you aren’t already.
There’s this framed Eleanor Roosevelt quote sitting on the bathroom countertop, and I’ve been (lovingly) bellowed at for not replacing it after a bathroom scrub-down. Therefore, you know it’s important. She says,
Small minds talk about people.
Average minds talk about events.
Great minds talk about ideas.
In an effort to be great, I’m really interested in hearing people’s ideas about the photos they take or see. I’m interested in the technical stuff, compositions, subject matter, and any reactions or stories that photos trigger. Feel free to leave comments on this site, direct me to your own personal site or blog, or tell a joke. Also acceptable are favorite chocolate chip cookie recipes that never fail to please. Maybe some day I’ll share mine.
